When your existing refrigeration isn’t enough, or you’re having a big outdoor event, a fridge trailer provides extra cold storage exactly where you need it. Popular with caterers, wedding venues, festivals, food producers and commercial kitchens, our trailers are a simple way to increase your refrigerated capacity.
Our fridge trailers are suitable for chilled drinks, fresh ingredients, and prepared food. They are equally suited supporting a one-day event as they are providing temporary refrigeration during a kitchen refurbishment or equipment breakdown.
The trailer connects to a standard 13A domestic socket or a 16A generator supply, making it suitable for venues with mains electricity as well as temporary event sites. We supply a 10-metre power cable as standard, allowing the trailer to be positioned close to your kitchen, marquee or service area while reaching the nearest power source.
Inside, the trailer offers generous storage space with removable shelves, allowing you to configure the layout to suit your stock. If you’re storing larger items such as boxed ingredients or keys, we can send the trailer with no shelving in, just let us know if you prefer it that way!
Every trailer is cleaned, checked and delivered ready for use. Our team will position it where required, connect the power supply and make sure everything is operating correctly before leaving. Once switched on, the refrigeration system quickly begins bringing the trailer down to the temperature you’ve selected.
At YES Hire, our standard hire period is five days, giving you plenty of time for preparation before your event and allowing your stock to reach temperature well in advance of service. If you need refrigerated storage for longer, simply get in touch and we’ll be happy to arrange an extended hire.
How big is the fridge trailer?
Our fridge trailer has an internal capacity of 2.9m x 1.65m x 1.9m, giving you plenty of room for drinks, food and catering supplies. The removable shelves allow you to adjust the layout depending on what you need to store.
How cold does the fridge trailer get?
The refrigeration unit goes down to 2 degrees. You set your desired temperature and the refrigeration system will then maintains a consistent chilled temperature, adjusting as the unit warms as new stock is added and the door is opened. Please note that constant passage in and out of the trailer will affect its ability to maintain low temperatures, especially on hot days.
How much power does a fridge trailer need?
The fridge trailer can run from a 13A domestic supply or a 16A generator connection, making it suitable for temporary event sites where permanent power isn’t available.
How long does a fridge trailer take to cool down?
The trailer will begin cooling as soon as it is connected to power. We recommend allowing several hours for it to reach the required temperature, particularly if loading large quantities of stock.
Do you deliver and set up the fridge trailer?
Yes. Our team delivers the trailer, positions it where required and checks that it is running correctly before leaving.
Do you provide extension leads?
No, we offer 10m cables. If your power sources if further than 10m away, you will need to provide an extension lead.
Can I lock the fridge trailer?
Yes, there will either be an integrated lock or a padlock for the door. We will leave the keys with you.
Do you provide a hitchlock?
Yes, we will put a hitchlock on the trailer to secure it against being moved. We can leave the key with you if you think you may want to move it later.
